Blackpool gardens are shaped by the sea. Salt-laden wind scorches exposed hedging and burns new growth on the seaward side, while sandy, free-draining soil across much of the town means lawns dry out quickly in summer and thin in patches. We set mowing heights and feeding to suit that rather than treating every lawn the same.
Plot sizes vary enormously across the town. Behind the central streets we work compact yards and narrow strips where access is through a back gate and everything has to be carried out by hand. Further out towards Marton and Staining there are larger lawns and long boundary hedges that suit a fortnightly schedule.
There is also a lot of rented and let property here, and those gardens have a different rhythm — short, regular visits that keep frontages presentable, with invoices for the landlord and no reliance on tenants owning a mower. We handle plenty of both alongside private homes.
